Obesity remains and continues to be one of the most prevalent and dangerous disease states, affecting approximately 100.2 million (41.9%) adults and 14.7 million (19.7%) children in the United States. Patients with obesity are at an increased risk for developing serious health conditions such as diabetes, coronary artery disease, and cancer. In addition to its impact on the patient, obesity-related medical expenditures account for approximately $147 billion annually.

Join us for an engaging panel discussion to learn more about the impact of health disparities in the obesity crisis and the role of pharmacists in the managed care setting. Faculty will discuss its clinical implications on patient outcomes, medical utilization, and healthcare costs and explore innovative strategies to achieve health equity.
