Nicole Purcell, DO, MS is a general neurologist and Senior Director of Clinical Practice at the Alzheimer’s Association, where she is a leader in the creation of clinical content for the education of professionals, health systems, and other clinical audiences. She also a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Innovative Roundtable where innovators and thought-leaders reimagine mechanisms for risk reduction, improving early detection, and increasing access to evidence-based, person-centered care for individuals with dementia. Prior to her tenure with the Alzheimer’s Association, Dr. Purcell held a variety of clinical, administrative, and teaching roles within the community and privademic healthcare setting. She engaged patients in the hospital, outpatient setting, and via telehealth platforms. Since 2011, she has been a driver of telehealth care to reduce disparities in healthcare access, where she developed hospital-based, telehealth networks to connect patients with clinical care, in which they would not have had access otherwise. Prior to becoming a physician, Dr. Purcell utilized her MS degree in the pharmaceutical industry engaging in Phase III clinical drug trials. She continues to maintain a clinical neurology practice within a health system in Pennsylvania.
